  • U Mobile is offering a free ULTRA5G trial for new customers through the MyUMobile App.

The trial includes 10GB of 5G data, free calls to all networks, and a validity period of seven days from activation. The offer is limited to one redemption per NRIC.

The free trial is available only to eligible new customers with a valid MyKad, MyKas, MyPR or MyTentera. It is not open to users who already have an existing mobile line with U Mobile.

The ULTRA5G trial is provided only in eSIM format. It can only be used on devices that support both eSIM and 5G. Users must also update the MyUMobile App to version 3.13.11 or newer before registration.

Customers cannot keep their current phone number for this trial. The trial is tied to an eSIM activation and requires a compatible device.

To activate the trial, users must first ensure they have a stable internet connection. They also need to confirm that their device supports 5G and eSIM before starting the process.

Registration is done through the MyUMobile App. Users must read and agree to the terms and conditions, complete ID and facial verification, and fill in their details. After that, they can download and install the eSIM. The eSIM details will be sent to the registered email address.

For iPhone users, activation requires going to Settings, selecting Mobile Data, tapping Add eSIM, choosing Use QR Code, and scanning the QR code sent by email. The iPhone must be running iOS 12.1.1 or above.

For Android users, activation requires going to Settings, selecting Connections, then Cellular or Mobile Network, choosing Add Mobile Plan, and scanning the QR code sent by email. Once the plan is detected, users can install and activate it.

After activation, users need to set U Mobile as the default mobile data SIM to use the ULTRA5G trial.

If the eSIM profile fails to download, users should check their internet or Wi-Fi connection and try scanning the QR code again. iPhone users must also ensure their device is running iOS 12.1.1 or later. If the problem continues, users can visit a U Mobile Store or contact the Customer Care Centre for manual setup support.

The free trial ends automatically after seven days with no automatic charges. It does not support data add-on subscriptions after the included quota is used up.

Users who want to continue can switch to any ULTRA Postpaid or ULTRA Family plan through the MyUMobile App. They can choose to convert the existing trial number, register a new line, or port in from another operator.
