Apple has announced the new iPad Air powered by the M4 chip. The device offers higher performance, more memory, and better connectivity at the same starting price.
The M4 chip includes an 8-core CPU and 9-core GPU. It provides up to 30 percent faster performance than the previous iPad Air with M3. Compared to the iPad Air with M1, it is up to 2.3 times faster. The Neural Engine is faster for AI tasks. Unified memory increases to 12GB, with 50 percent more than before and higher bandwidth at 120GB/s.
The new iPad Air includes the N1 wireless chip for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread support. Cellular models use the C1X modem. This delivers up to 50 percent faster cellular data and lower energy use.
The iPad Air comes in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes. Both models are available in blue, purple, starlight, and space gray. Storage options start at 128GB.
Pricing remains unchanged. The 11-inch Wi-Fi model starts at RM2799. The 13-inch Wi-Fi model starts at RM3699. Cellular versions cost RM700 more.
Pre-orders begin on 4 March 2026. Availability starts on 11 March 2026 in multiple countries and regions.
The device runs iPadOS 26. It features a new Liquid Glass design, improved windowing system, enhanced Files app, and new Preview app. It supports Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil (USB-C), and Magic Keyboard.
The new iPad Air is suitable for students, creators, business users, and gamers. It includes a 12MP Center Stage front camera on the landscape edge and landscape stereo speakers.
