  • Apple has released iOS 26.3.1 for iPhone and iPadOS 26.3.1 for iPad. These are minor updates that include bug fixes and security improvements. The releases also add support for new Studio Display and Studio Display XDR monitors.

The update appeared on 4 March 2026. It followed Apple’s announcement on 3 March about the new displays. The displays require compatible software on connected devices. iPad and Mac need iPadOS 26.3.1 or macOS 26.3.1 to connect fully. iPhone receives the same version for ecosystem consistency.

iOS 26.3.1 supports all iPhone models from iPhone 11 onwards. This includes iPhone 11, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, iPhone 15, iPhone 16, and iPhone 17 series. The second-generation and third-generation iPhone SE are also supported. iPhone Air models are included.

To install the update, users should open the Settings app on their iPhone. They should go to General and then select Software Update. The Download and Install option will appear when the update is available. The file size is around 906 MB on recent models. Installation usually takes less than 15 minutes.

This release is smaller than major updates. It prepares devices for new Thunderbolt 5 accessories. A larger update, iOS 26.4, is expected later in March or April.
