- BeONE Mobile has officially launched in Malaysia as a mobile virtual network operator offering prepaid 4G and 5G services using the Maxis network.

The local mobile brand was officially launched on 28 September 2026, with Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil attending the event. BeONE Mobile is positioning itself as a prepaid provider with a community-based sales and support model alongside its mobile plans.
Unlike Maxis, CelcomDigi and U Mobile, BeONE Mobile does not operate its own nationwide radio access network. As an MVNO, it provides its mobile service using network infrastructure supplied by another operator.
BeONE Mobile states that its service is powered by Maxis. Fahmi also said during the launch that the initiative was supported by the stability and coverage of the Maxis network. Maxis chief executive officer Goh Seow Eng was among those reported to have attended the official launch.
The arrangement means BeONE Mobile customers receive mobile connectivity through the Maxis network, although BeONE remains responsible for its own prepaid products, customer relationship, distribution and other parts of its service.
BeONE is not an entirely new mobile brand in Malaysia. It previously operated as BeONE Prepaid through redONE before moving towards operating as an independent MVNO powered by Maxis.
Its current prepaid offering includes separate monthly plans for customers who port an existing mobile number to BeONE Mobile and customers who register a new number.
For customers using Mobile Number Portability, BeONE Mobile offers an M25 plan at RM25 for 30 days with 150GB of 4G and 5G data.
The plan also includes unlimited calls to all networks and allows the data allocation to be used for hotspot or data sharing. BeONE advertising currently states speeds of up to 1,000Mbps for its main monthly plans.
Customers who want a new mobile number instead of porting an existing number can subscribe to an M30 plan at RM30 per month with 150GB of 4G and 5G data.
Higher-tier M38 and M48 monthly plans are also available for both MNP and new-number customers, with larger data allocations.
Current BeONE sales information lists an M48 MNP plan at RM48 per month with 500GB of domestic 4G and 5G data. The equivalent RM48 plan for customers taking a new number is listed with 400GB of domestic data.
Both are advertised with unlimited calls, full hotspot usage and maximum speeds of up to 1,000Mbps.
Some of BeONE Mobile’s monthly offers also include a roaming allocation that can be used in Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.
The distinction between MNP and new-number packages is therefore important for customers comparing BeONE Mobile plans. A user who transfers an existing number may receive a different data allocation or entry price from someone registering a new line.
BeONE Mobile also offers shorter prepaid passes.
Its daily option costs RM3 and provides 3GB of mobile data for 24 hours. A weekly plan costs RM12 and includes 15GB of 4G and 5G data together with unlimited calls.
For customers who mainly need long SIM validity, BeONE also offers yearly options.
Current plan information lists a Yearly 38 option at RM38 for 365 days of validity with basic Internet access at up to 512Kbps. A Yearly 58 plan is also available with a high-speed data allocation and 365-day validity.
BeONE Mobile is using a universal SIM card for both new registrations and Mobile Number Portability. Its website says customers can select a new number through its system, while account functions such as checking data, managing credit and subscribing to plans are handled through the BeONE Mobile app.
The company’s business model also relies heavily on independent community agents rather than focusing only on conventional retail stores.
BeONE Mobile chief executive officer Ameen Amaendran said at the launch that agents are provided with training and digital tools and do not need their own shop premises or initial capital to participate in the programme.
The company is initially targeting groups including young people, gig workers, small traders and lower-income households for its community agent programme.
BeONE Mobile also launched an Entrepreneurship Programme for the E-Hailing Community. The programme is intended to allow e-hailing drivers to become BeONE agents and earn additional income while continuing their existing work.
A separate Community SIM Initiative was introduced in Lembah Pantai as part of the launch. The initiative is intended to expand Internet access among local residents while making use of BeONE’s community-based distribution model.
BeONE Mobile reportedly has around 3,000 active agents and is targeting 10,000 active agents within the next two years. Its CEO also said the company pays agent incentives daily rather than making participants wait several weeks for commissions.
Fahmi said BeONE Mobile could also work with Maxis through National Information Dissemination Centres (NADI) on digital literacy programmes and awareness efforts related to online scams.
The launch gives consumers another prepaid provider using the Maxis mobile network at a time when Malaysia’s prepaid market is already served by the major network operators as well as several MVNO brands.
For consumers considering BeONE Mobile, the most significant differences are its large monthly data allocations, separate packages for port-in and new-number customers, full hotspot usage on its main plans and its reliance on a community-agent distribution model.
The service is available now, with BeONE Mobile SIM cards and prepaid plans offered through the company’s own channels and agent network.
