- Nothing is developing two different types of smart glasses, including one with a camera and ChatGPT, according to a leak from technology tipster Roland Quandt.

Quandt shared the details on Bluesky on 13 October. Nothing has not confirmed either product.
The first model will focus on audio. It will work like a pair of headphones worn on the face, with built-in microphones and speakers. Users will be able to play music and audiobooks, take calls and interact with the voice assistant on their paired smartphone.
The second model will offer the same audio functions and add a built-in camera. It is said to include ChatGPT integration, translation and other AI features. The leak did not explain how the AI processing will work, or whether it happens on the glasses, a connected phone or in the cloud.
Both versions are reported to feature photochromic lenses, which darken automatically outdoors and turn clear again indoors. No product images, design details, prices or battery specifications have appeared so far.
Nothing already has a relationship with OpenAI’s chatbot. In April 2024, the company shipped a first-of-its-kind integration that let users of paired Nothing phones and earbuds summon ChatGPT by voice.
The two-model approach would mirror the strategy of Meta, which dominates the smart glasses market. Counterpoint Research data showed Meta held roughly 84 percent of smart glasses shipments in the first half of 2026. IDC separately reported that display-less audio glasses made up 70.3 percent of all shipments in the second quarter of 2026, up from 61.9 percent a year earlier. Meta sells camera-equipped Ray-Ban glasses alongside the cheaper, camera-free Ray-Ban Audio model.
The leak fits an earlier Bloomberg report from March this year, which said Nothing was targeting an AI smart glasses launch in the first half of 2027. According to that report, chief executive Carl Pei was initially resistant to smart glasses but later told employees he wanted to pursue a multi-device strategy. The glasses were said to rely on smartphones and the cloud for their AI functions.
The company has made no secret of its shift in priorities. In January, Pei confirmed Nothing would not release a new flagship phone in 2026 and that the Phone (3) would remain its top model. Its 2026 phone lineup consists of three mid-range devices, the Phone (4a), Phone (4a) Pro and the Phone (4b), which launched in July from £299 with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip.
Beyond phones, Nothing’s sub-brand CMF launched its first portable Bluetooth speakers, the Speaker S and Speaker M, on 12 October, priced from $59. The company also released the Headphone (1) Pro earlier this year.
Nothing has not said when the smart glasses will launch or whether they will be sold in Malaysia.
