The Android 17-based update is currently available in the US, India and South Korea, with a download size of about 3.6GB. It also includes the August 2026 security patch. One UI 9 introduces more customisation for the Quick Panel, including adjustable brightness and volume sliders and additional control over the media player. Samsung DeX also receives improvements. Users can move app windows between desktops more easily, while desktop previews are displayed in the Recents screen. Samsung Notes adds a new Tape feature for hiding and revealing parts of a note, together with additional pen styles. Privacy changes include a blue indicator when an app accesses the phone's location. Accessibility improvements include Text Spotlight, Select to Speak, new physical keyboard shortcuts, improved mouse controls and easier TalkBack updates through the Google Play Store. Eligible Galaxy S24 users can register for the One UI 9 Beta Program through the Samsung Members app before checking for the update under Settings and Software update.
