  • Samsung has begun rolling out the stable One UI 9 update to the Galaxy A27 and Galaxy A37 in South Korea, marking a key milestone for mid-range Galaxy devices running Android 17.

The update for the Galaxy A27 arrives with firmware version A276KKSU3BZIF, while the Galaxy A37 receives version A376NKSU3BZI6. Both builds include the October 2026 security patch and are now available on Samsung’s servers in South Korea.

The Galaxy A27, known locally as the Galaxy Jump 5 in some Asian markets, joined the One UI 9 testing programme in September. This is significant for mid-range buyers since it demonstrates Samsung is delivering major software upgrades to older A series models alongside its latest flagships.

Malaysian Galaxy users can expect a delayed rollout. Samsung typically releases major updates in South Korea first, followed by Southeast Asia three to eight weeks later. For the A27, A37, A36 and A56, the Malaysia release could land in November or December 2026, depending on carrier certification with CelcomDigi, Maxis and U Mobile.

The Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56 are not included in this initial rollout. Details remain pending from Samsung, but beta testing for both models has been ongoing since July. The A36 entered its second One UI 9 beta iteration in September, while the A56 was spotted in public beta programmes in India and Europe.

One UI 9 brings design refinements and expanded AI features built on the interface changes introduced in One UI 7. Notable updates include improvements to Finder, privacy alerts and the Now Brief panel. The full feature list varies by device model and region.

For users waiting for the update, Samsung recommends checking manually once the rollout reaches Malaysia. Navigate to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Updates are typically delivered over Wi-Fi and may require 2-3GB of available storage.

The Galaxy A27 and A37 were launched in early 2026 with Android 16 and One UI 8.5. Samsung committed to six years of Android OS upgrades for the A series, meaning these devices will continue receiving major updates through 2032.

This update follows Samsung’s earlier One UI 9 releases to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 in July, and the Galaxy S26 series in September. The Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 received stable One UI 9 updates earlier this month.
