  • Recent leaks provide more information on Apple’s upcoming foldable smartphone. The device is expected to launch in September alongside other premium models. It may carry the name iPhone Ultra instead of iPhone Fold.

Storage variants include 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. A reliable tipster on Weibo listed the Chinese prices as follows. The 256GB base model costs CNY 15,999. The 512GB version costs CNY 17,999. The 1TB model costs CNY 19,999.

Direct conversion from Chinese yuan to US dollars puts the base model at around $2,330. However, Apple often adjusts prices for different markets rather than using exact exchange rates. When adjusted using the pricing difference seen on current iPhone Pro models between the US and China, the estimated US prices become more reasonable. The 256GB model starts at $1,999. The 512GB model costs $2,199. The 1TB model costs $2,399.

Earlier reports suggested a higher starting price of $2,399 in the US. One newer leak claims a much lower entry point, possibly around $1,221. This figure remains unconfirmed and differs from other sources.

Using the current exchange rate of 1.00 USD = 3.93856529 MYR, the estimated US prices convert to Malaysian Ringgit as follows:

    • 256GB (starting at $1,999): approximately RM 7,873
    • 512GB ($2,199): approximately RM 8,661
    • 1TB ($2,399): approximately RM 9,449

If the lower leaked price of around $1,221 holds true, it would convert to roughly RM 4,809 in Malaysia.

On the hardware side, a Korean report states that Samsung will supply the RAM. The foldable will feature 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM. This matches the RAM amount expected in other high-end models like the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air.

These details come from various leakers and publications. They remain unofficial until Apple makes an announcement.
