  • OnePlus and Realme have reportedly merged into a single entity, according to a report from China.

The reported restructuring places the combined entity under the leadership of OnePlus China president Li Jie. He will report directly to Pete Lau, also known as Liu Zuohu.

The change is expected to bring OnePlus and Realme closer in product development, strategy and resources. This may also include software development, product roadmaps and device launch timing.

Wang Wei, Realme’s former vice-president, is reportedly set to become deputy general manager in the restructured entity.

According to the report, OnePlus and Realme will merge their domestic and global operations. However, both brands are expected to keep their own brand identity.

Marketing and services are also expected to be shared under the new sub-business unit.

Neither OnePlus nor Realme has officially commented on the report at the time of writing.
