- Primate Labs has released Geekbench 7, the latest version of its cross-platform benchmarking application for Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and Linux.

Geekbench 7 introduces new CPU workloads for audio and video encoding, decoding and processing. These tests are designed around common activities such as video calls, screen sharing, audio compression, live captions and content playback.
The benchmark also adds a Game Physics workload based on the Jolt Physics engine. Its Photo Editor and Photo Library tests have been updated to include more realistic image editing tasks and support for formats such as JPEG XL and DNG.
Geekbench 7 changes how multi-core CPU performance is measured. Workloads only run in multi-threaded mode when the real application task normally uses multiple processor cores. The HTML5 browser test is therefore not included in the multi-core benchmark.
The GPU benchmark now focuses more on machine learning and content creation. Tests include face tracking, image upscaling, video background blurring, RAW image processing, video colour grading, path tracing and fluid simulation.
Geekbench 7 remains free for personal use.
