  • Apple has launched the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max with a new 48MP variable aperture camera, A20 Pro chip, longer battery life and a smaller Dynamic Island.

The new variable aperture system allows the main camera to adjust how much light reaches the sensor while giving users more control over depth of field. Apple is also adding manual camera controls for aperture, shutter speed and white balance.

Both iPhone 18 Pro models are powered by the new 2nm A20 Pro chip. Other upgrades include a redesigned vapour chamber, Apple’s C2 cellular modem, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and improved battery life.

The iPhone 18 Pro also introduces Apple Reference Image, which creates an unalterable reference version of a photo to help users check whether an image has been edited.

The phones run iOS 27 with Apple Intelligence and the new Siri AI. iOS 27 also introduces iPhone Handoff, which allows supported users to switch between two iPhones using the same phone number.

In Malaysia, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max pre-orders begin at 8pm on 12 September 2026. Retail availability starts on 18 September.
